This week is another busy week:
Monday: Help us celebrate Patriot's Day at 8:15 am on the yard. There will be the pledge of allegiance with sign language, national anthem, songs, speeches, and more. Parents are invited to join. Once all students enter school and are lined up for the assembly, parents may enter the campus through the two Callicot gates that will be opened at 8:15 am. This event is for parents only and no younger siblings will be permitted. Following the event parents will exit out the same Callicot gates.
5th Grade Parent Meeting: Please join the 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Kearns, and me for our annual 5th grade parent meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13th at 6:00 pm via zoom. We will be discussing the transition to middle school (magnet and resident), planned 5th grade events for the school year, fundraising opportunities, and Pali Camp. Monthly Fire Drill: On Thursday morning just prior to recess we will have our monthly fire drill to practice emergency preparedness procedures.
Charter Governance/LSLC: This Thursday at 3:00 pm via zoom we will have our Charter Governance and Local School Leadership Council Orientation and Elections. All are welcome to participate as I will be reviewing the purpose of the committees followed by an election of members and voting members. A zoom link will be sent out closer to the meeting.
Honors Awards Assembly: We will have our first Honor's Awards Assembly on Friday to congratulate our students for their hard work and stellar citizenship. Teachers will notify families if their child is receiving an award. Times are listed below and participating families will enter through the front gate.
TK/K & 1st - 8:20 am
2nd & 3rd Grade - 8:45 am
4th & 5th Grade - 9:15 am
Parent Handbook Signatures: Please do not forget to submit the annual required forms that are found in the LAUSD Parent/Student Handbook - pesticide, photo release, and a few more. The handbook can also be found at lausd.org. We almost have 100% submission and thank you to those who have already submitted their forms.
Lost and Found: Our lost and found is being to pile up. Please stop by the lost and found in front of the school to retrieve any lost items. Also, please be sure that your child's water bottle, lunch box, and jackets are labeled so that we can easily return them to their owners. Without labels they will be donated.
