Odyssey of the Mind - I want to give a gigantic congratulations to our Odyssey of the Mind team who traveled to Iowa State University this week with their amazing coaches, Ms. Lundy, Ms. Awad, and myself to compete against 50 other teams from around the world for the World's Competition. Our team came in 3rd place out of 50 which is incredible. I am extremely proud of all the teams and coaches who participated this year as they demonstrated their creativity, hard work, and teamwork.
Spelling Bee - I also want to congratulate our Spelling Bee participants who competed against our surrounding schools this past Thursday for their bravery and participation. A big congratulations goes out to Josiah Boudris who won as the 4th grade participant. I am super proud of him along with all the students who participated.
This Week:
Spring Sing: This Thursday I hope our TK/Kinder, 2nd grade, 3rd grade magnet, and 4th grade families are able to join us for the "Spring Vibes" Sing on Wednesday at 8:30 am and 1:15 pm concert in the auditorium. Families will enter through the back of the auditorium and doors will open 10 minutes prior to the show starting. I know it is going to be a great one as our music teacher, Mr. Lake and teachers and students have been working super hard to prepare.
Final Awards Assembly - Our final awards assembly will be on Thursday as we congratulate those students who have demonstrate scholarly traits and showed perseverance throughout the school year. Teachers will be sending emails to the families of those students receiving an award.
4th Grade Gold Rush Event - 4th grade has been working extra hard preparing for their memorable Gold Rush event on Friday. Please remember that only approved LAUSD volunteers may participate and names will be submitted to the office for a quick and easy check in.
