Good evening Welby Way families,
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend as we head into our second to the last week of the 2023 - 24 school year with lots of performances and goodness to come. First, I want to thank our amazing students, Music Teacher - Mr. Lake, and teachers who participated in this week's "Spring Vibe" Spring Sing. The students did a beautiful job bringing the spring vibe alive. Parents please remember that the grades who did not participate had participated in the winter program in December.
This Week:
Volunteer Tea: On Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 am we will have our annual Volunteer Tea in the garden area behind the main office. We look forward to celebrating and thanking the many volunteers who have given their time and service this school year to help our students and school shine. Please be sure to check in at the main office. No younger siblings or children are permitted for the event.
Earthquake Kits: This week our earthquake bins will be returned to classrooms and students will be bringing home their earthquake kits for the summer.
After School Spanish Enrichment Class: This week is our final week of the Spanish enrichment class. Class will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday after school this week. Please check your emails for specifics for times for Wednesday's class. I hope everyone who participated this year enjoyed this opportunity for their children as we hope to continue next year.
Classroom Performances: This week we have several classroom performances as listed below. Parents, please remember for classroom performances, they are for parents/adults only. As part of the LAUSD visitor policy, all younger non Welby Way or nonLAUSD siblings and/or younger siblings or younger family members are not permitted to participate. I thank you for your understanding with this.

Minimum Day Dismissal - This Thursday, Friday and next Monday will be 12:35 pm dismissal. Please be sure to note this on your calendar so your child is picked up on time.
Welby Way Olympics: This week we will have our annual Welby Way Olympics on Tuesday and Wednesday morning for 1st - 5th grade classes. The event ends on Friday with our awards ceremony at 11:45 am on the yard. Parents are welcome to attend the brief awards ceremony and must check in with the office.
5th Grade Culmination - Reminder our 5th grade culmination will be on Monday, June 10th at 8:30 am for Magnet and 10:30 am for Charter. All families will enter through the front gate as the gate will be opened 10 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
Kindergarten Bridging Ceremony: On our last day of school, June 11th at 8:30 am, we will celebrate our Kindergarten students as they bridge into 1st grade.
I hope you all have a wonderful remainder of the weekend and evening. Please remember that though there are only 7 days of school remaining that attendance still counts.
