Monday: I look forward to seeing everyone at Monday's October LSLC/Governance Meeting at 3:00 pm as we discuss our Annual Safe School Plan and upcoming Great Shake Drill. Below is the zoom link for the meeting and attached is the agenda.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, please join our Parent Rep. Mrs. Klein, our Wellness Counselor Johanna, and I for Coffee with the Principal as we present Suicide Awareness and Prevention. We will be discussing strategies to assist our students in understanding their feelings and providing resources for our families. There will be coffee and goodies for all who participate.
Thursday: This Thursday we will have our Annual Great Shake Drill at 8:35 am. During the time of the drill the office will be closed, phones will not be answered, and students may not be dropped off or picked as the entire Welby Way staff will be participating in the drill. Once the drill is complete we will reopen the office. If your child has an appointment during this time please plan ahead as they will not be released during the drill This is also an important time with all of our recent earthquakes to discuss with your child your at home emergency procedures along with discuss the importance of following all adult directions during the drill.
POWW Events:
POWW is collecting donations for the Trunk or Treat & Boo Bash! Bags of candy can be dropped in/"fed" to the candy "monster" box in the office or you can donate $5 at Pay4SchoolStuff.com. We have also created an Amazon Wishlist (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3LUEKSW4UHT0F?ref_=wl_share) for items, as well as candy, that are needed for this event. We appreciate any contributions in making this event a huge success. Please see the attached flier for more information.
Trunk or Treat and Boo Bash: I can't wait to see you all at the Annual POWW Trunk or Treat and Boo Bash on Saturday, Oct. 26th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. I thank you in advance to all the wonderful families who have signed their trunk up for the event to help this be such a memorable event. I look forward to an evening of fun with games, dancing, costumes, a haunted maze, and so much more.
Future Events:
School Picture Day: Next Wednesday, Oct. 16th and Thursday, Oct. 17th will be school picture day. All information has been sent home on the Cornerstone flier this week as orders all orders will be placed online and photos will be mailed home. A specific schedule with classroom days and times will be sent out this week.
TK - 2nd Grade Puppet Show: Next Thursday, Oct. 17th a free after-school Puppet Show will be presented to students TK - 2nd grade students from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in the auditorium. There will only be a limited number of seats available for students and admission will be on a first come first serve basis based on the google sign up that will be sent out later this week. This is a student only event since space is limited. More information to come.
Halloween Parade: We will have our annual Halloween Parade on the yard for families and students on Thursday, Oct. 31st at 8:15 am. Students will be permitted to wear their school appropriate costume to school and then bring clothes to change into following the parade. Students may not bring any weapons (swords, knives, or guns) to school as part of their costume or wear masks or costumes that cover their face. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
