Our second semester is going to be a busy one with lots of continued learning, field trips, performances, state testing in May for our 3rd - 5th grade students, and so much more. With this, please remember the importance of continued regular attendance and arriving at school everyday on time. This means your child is in line at the time of the bell and not walking through the gate or getting out of the car. Please do know that this sets your child's day up for success. At this time of the year, if your child has more than 7 absences especially if they are not due to illness, this is considered excessive and can impact your child's learning for the future. I will be reviewing all students attendance and following up with families whose children have excessive absences. Thank you for ensuring your child is in school every day.
This Week:
Coffee with the Principal: Please join Ms. Johanna and me on Thursday at 8:30 am in room 40 for our next Coffee with the Principal. We will be discussing and providing techniques to support families with responding to behavior at home and at school. There will also be coffee and goodies. I hope to see you there.
Upcoming Notices: It is hard to believe but we are in the beginning phases of preparing to the following school year. This week we will emailing and mailing out notices to confirm current addresses and what families will be returning for the 2025 - 26 along with enrolling younger siblings. This will assist us with our upcoming Charter Lottery on Friday, Feb.14th at 10:00 am. We will also be asking for your input on our budget needs with a Budget Needs Assessment following next week's Governance meeting.
Reminder: Don't forget to mark your calendar as there is no school on Monday, Jan 20th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Have a wonderful evening and remainder of the weekend. Thank you for the gift of your child and partnership. See you in the morning and this is all for now.
Your Welby Way Principal,
Mrs. DaCorsi
