Weekly News #19 - January 13-20, 2025

I hope this message finds you and your family well and safe with the current winds and fires.  We will return to school tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 13 for regular instruction and schedules. We will be on a full inclement weather schedule which limits outdoor and athletics activities. Masks will also be provided for those who prefer to wear them.  As we restart our second semester for success and return to school. I know that all staff, students, and families safety and wellness is of the utmost importance.

This Week:

January LSLC/Governance Meeting:  Tomorrow, Monday Jan. 13th, we will have our monthly Local School Leadership and Governance Meeting at 3:00 pm via zoom.  We will be discussing the 2025 -26 school budget, budget needs assessment that will be shared with all, and upcoming lottery.  All are welcome to attend and zoom log in information is below.

Spelling Bee:  This week in preparation for the upcoming Scripps Spelling Bee at the end of the month for 4th and 5th grade students and future school complex spelling bee for 1st - 5th grade, students will be participating in classroom spelling bee activities to determine final candidates.  This is a classroom activity for students as parents do not attend.
Coffee with the Principal:  Our rescheduled Coffee with the Principal regarding the discussion of De-escalation and Restorative Practices has been scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 am.  All students will also participate in the discussion within their classroom with me and their classroom teacher.  I hope you are able to attend as there will be helpful tools for families and rich discussion along with coffee and goodies.  
Reminder:  In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., there will be no school on Monday, Jan. 20th with school resuming on the following day.
