Good evening Welby Way families,
I hope you are all having a positive weekend as I would like to congratulate our Welby Way Math Field Day team who competed at the LA County level this weekend with the support of Mrs. Hassig and Mrs. Kearns. Their hard work and determination is to admired and I am so proud of them for all they accomplished.
Open House and Minimum Day: This week we prepare for a busy week with Open House on Thursday from 5:30 - 6:30 pm with cheer presenting in front of the school at 5:00 pm. This Thursday will also be minimum day dismissal at 12:50 pm. After school enrichment classes (Parker Anderson and ToroSports) will start closer to 1:15 pm so that our students can eat lunch.
Kindness Week: This week is also a positive and fun week as we spread kindness throughout our school for Kindness Week with the support of Ms. Johanna and our parent volunteers. Each day will start with a positive quote and various activities throughout the week such as handprint making, a kindness checklist, and stations at lunch recess. Please see the attached letter and flyer for more information.
Grooming and Cyber Safety Video: On Monday our 2nd - 5th grade students will be participating in a Grooming and Cyber Safety Video that was presented at Friday's coffee with the principal. This is an important presentation to discuss with your child regarding keeping them safe in the community and while on line. Be sure to ask your child what PLAN means and how it can help keep them safe. This is an important family tool for when you child is out with friends and playing a game on line.
Fire Drill: Also, on Monday we will have our monthly drop and fire drill to ensure our students know the procedures in case of an emergency.
