Weekly News #3 from Mrs. DaCorsi (August 25-29)

Good Evening Welby Way Families,

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend and staying cool as we head into another short but busy four-day school week. As a reminder, there will be no school this Friday, August 29th, for Admissions Day, and no school on Monday, September 1st, for Labor Day.

This Week:

Monday Morning Assembly:
Tomorrow we will hold our second Monday Morning Assembly following the morning bell.  Families will enter through the front and Callicott gates and I ask that parents exit following the assembly without walking your child to class.    Ms. Dang’s class will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, share the meaning of Admissions Day and Labor Day, and introduce our September character trait: Respect.

Back to School Night:
Please join us for Back to School Night on Tuesday evening.

  • 3rd – 5th Grades: 5:30 – 6:15 pm

  • TK – 2nd Grades: 6:20 – 7:00 pm

This evening is an important opportunity for families to learn about your child’s instructional program and classroom expectations. Please note, this event is for parents and guardians only — children should not attend.

Special Note: Mrs. Ortiz’s 2nd/3rd grade class will meet at 5:30 pm with one combined presentation.

Coffee with the Principal:
Please join me for our first Coffee with the Principal on Wednesday morning at 8:30 am. Together we’ll reflect on the start of the school year, focusing on creating a welcoming environment and our “We Are One” initiatives. Coffee and treats will be provided. Parents will check in at the main office.

Thank you, as always, for your time, support, and partnership in making Welby Way such a special place for our students. I truly appreciate all that you do to help our school community thrive, and I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the week.  This is all for now and have a wonderful evening and remainder of the weekend.
