Weekly News #12 from Mrs. DaCorsi

A message from WELBY WAY EL Cht Sch

Good evening Welby Way families,

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend! It was great to see all the amazing trunks and the 5th grade Haunted House at our annual Trunk or Treat and Boo Bash! šŸŽƒ POWW and our volunteers did an incredible job planning, organizing, and leading a day and evening of spooky fun for all. What a successful event — I truly thank everyone who gave their time, creativity, and dedication to make this event such a success!

Tomorrow morning, we will gather for our weekly Monday Morning Assembly as Mr. Weissler’s class presents a special pumpkin-themed performance. I hope you are able to join us—families are always welcome! Please remember to exit carefully following the assembly.

This Week at Welby Way

Clippers Read to Achieve:
On Monday, we begin our annual Clippers Read to Achieve reading incentive program, where Kinder–5th grade students log their reading minutes using the Beanstalk program to earn prizes. Please see the attached information for details on registering your child and logging minutes. This is a great opportunity to get credits for reading—both AR and at-home—while earning fun prizes from the Los Angeles Clippers! šŸ“ššŸ€

Fire Drill:
On Thursday morning, we will have our monthly drop and fire drill to practice safety procedures for emergencies at school.

Halloween Parade:
We invite everyone to join us for our annual Halloween Parade at 8:15 a.m. on Friday on the yard! Parents may enter through the front and Callicot gates and assemble behind the students as our teachers and students parade around and show off their Halloween spirit.

Please remember that students may not bring weapons or wear masks as part of their costumes. They need to  bring a change of clothes to wear after the parade, as costumes are not permitted for the remainder of the school day.

šŸ‘» Volunteer Reminder:
If you are an approved volunteer and helping in your child’s classroom following the parade, please check in at the main office for your volunteer/visitor badge before reporting to the classroom. You must be an approved volunteer and have your badge visible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
