I hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween and remembered to change your clocks for Daylight Savings Time! I look forward to seeing you at our Monday Morning Assembly following the bell tomorrow, as we learn about Filipino Heritage and Día de los Muertos.
🌟 This Week at Welby Way
Parent Meeting and Coffee with the Principal
Please join Ms. Johanna on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. for our next parent meeting, “Breaking the Noise,” an experiential workshop focused on implementing effective parenting strategies and building positive connections with our children. Discussion topics will include solutions for the anxious brain, stress management, and new research on the long-term effects of COVID on brain development. It’s sure to be a thoughtful morning!
On Friday at 8:30 a.m., join me for Coffee with the Principal as we discuss Substance Use Awareness/Fentanyl, a topic our TK–5th grade students will be learning about in a safe and age-appropriate way the following week.
Make-Up Pictures
Thursday will be Picture Make-Up Day for students who were absent on the original picture day or need a retake.
Honor Awards Assembly
I look forward to celebrating our hardworking and respectful students at the next Honor Awards Assembly on Thursday. If your child is receiving an award, you will have received an email from your child’s teacher.
Shelter-in-Place Drill
On Friday afternoon, we will hold our fall Shelter-in-Place Drill, where staff and students will practice procedures for an event involving unsafe air quality in the surrounding area. During the drill, the office will be closed, and students may not be picked up. Once all staff and students are accounted for, the office will reopen.
FocusFish Presents Shrek!
Come see our talented Welby Way FocusFish students perform Shrek! on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are available at bit.ly/focusfishtix and at the door. I can’t wait to see our students shine on stage!
