Our Welby Way Robotics/VEX teams competed on Saturday against several other schools across LAUSD at Nobel Middle School and won the Judges Award for the quality of their team interviews! I am incredibly proud of our students for their growth, determination, and teamwork under the direction of Mrs. Meyers, Mr. Weissler, and Ms. Guidry. Congratulations to all!
🐝 This Week at Welby Way
Our 1st–5th grade students will begin Round 1 of our annual Spelling Bee within their classrooms this week. Best of luck to all participants! The winners from each class will advance to Round 2 next week to compete against their grade-level peers.
🔥 January Fire & Drop Drill
On Wednesday, we will conduct our monthly fire and drop drill as part of our ongoing commitment to practicing and refining our emergency procedures.
☕ Hot Chocolate Party
Congratulations to Mrs. Shin, Ms. Denne, Ms. Hoehn, Mrs. Bravo, Ms. Dang, Ms. Baca, and Mrs. Beauchemin’s classes for winning the Hot Chocolate December Attendance Party with the best attendance in their grade levels! I can’t wait to see which classes will win the pizza party for January!
🏃♂️ LA Rams Run Club
Exciting news! Welby Way has been awarded a $2,500 LA Rams Run Club grant! 🎉
If you love to run and want to support student wellness, join us for our new Rams Run Club, starting Wednesday, March 4th at 7:30 a.m. on the grass field. With support from the Los Angeles Rams, this will be a fun, weekly opportunity to promote fitness and community.
We are seeking 5–10 parent volunteers who can assist for 20–30 minutes each Wednesday morning to assist with the program. A Google sign-up form and more details will be shared next week so keep your eyes out for the email.
