Weekly News #25 (Feb. 23 - 27, 2026)

Good evening Welby Way families,

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend. 🌞

Tomorrow, we’ll begin our week with our Monday Morning Assembly, where Ms. Cole’s class will be presenting and singing a special song in celebration of the Lunar New Year. I hope you are able to join us! 🧧🐉

📅 This Week at Welby Way

🧘‍♀️ Parent Workshop: Yoga for Parents
Tuesday, February 25 | 8:30–9:30 a.m. | Library
More information about registration can be found on the attached flyer and the Welby Way website.

Also on Tuesday, Hale Middle School students will visit Welby Way to present their Living History performance for our 4th and 5th grade students. We look forward to hosting them and learning from their presentations.

🚀 Wednesday:
Mrs. Curley’s and Mrs. Blaine’s students will present their Vacation to Mars showcase in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. for families. Doors will open just before the start of the show.

We will also be holding our rescheduled February Drop/Fire Drill between recess and lunch as we continue to practice our emergency preparedness procedures.

🛡️ Thursday:
On Thursday, we will conduct our Spring Semester Shelter-in-Place Drill in the afternoon. During the drill, the office and campus will be closed as we account for all students and staff and ensure that all doors are locked and procedures are properly followed. Once the drill is complete, the office will reopen, and a message will be sent to all families.

🎩 Friday:
Our 5th grade students will participate in their annual Road to Revolution Day! I can’t wait to see all the creative costumes and engaging activities as students bring history to life and make lasting memories together.

The 5th Grade Snack Shack will also be open after dismissal on Friday — be sure to stop by and show your support! 🍪

POWW Updates:

Spirit Store will be open on Monday Feb 23rd in front of Kinder Gate

The store will run from 2:15-3:00pm. Don’t forget your Honeycomb Vouchers!

Glow Dance has a NEW DATE!

The Spring Glow Dance will now take place on April 25, 2026, at Hale Middle School!
