Weekly News #35 (May 11-15, 2026)

Good evening Welby Way families,

I hope you are all enjoying a safe, relaxing, and wonderful weekend. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing mothers who go above and beyond for their families each and every day. I hope you are enjoying a very special day.

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning at our weekly Monday Morning Assembly. This week’s assembly will be brief and will include announcements along with words of encouragement for our 3rd–5th grade students as they continue testing.

📚 3rd–5th Grade Testing

This is an important final stretch of the school year, with only 22 days of school remaining. The next couple of weeks are especially important as our 3rd–5th grade students continue taking their state assessments, with 3rd and 4th grade expected to finish this week.

During this time, it is very important that students arrive at school on time and attend every day so they can do their best on their tests and in the classroom—because the classroom is where it’s at! Testing will end each day around recess, so please plan appointments in the afternoon over the next few weeks to allow your child every opportunity to shine.

Please also be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, has a healthy breakfast, and comes to school prepared to do their very best.

🌳 2nd Grade Field Trip

This week, our 2nd grade students will be attending a field trip to TreePeople on Thursday and Friday.

🍿 Snack Shack

Our 5th grade students will be hosting Snack Shack on Friday. Please make arrangements with your child to meet at the front gate if the line is long, as the side gates will close promptly on time.

🚗 Important Request for Information

On Friday during Pali Camp pick-up, a parent’s blue car was hit on Calicott by another white car. If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information, please contact the school office. Thank you for your support.

🎉 Saturday Events
