Good evening Welby Way families,
I hope you are all having a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable three-day Memorial Day weekend as we honor and remember those who have served our country. As a reminder, there will be no school tomorrow and no Monday Morning Assembly this week.
Thank you for ensuring your child has been at school each day and on time as we finish the final 12 days of the school year strong. Our 3rd–5th grade students have officially completed SBA testing, and scores are already beginning to appear in the system. We are proud to share that our 5th grade students have increased their science scores by 6% from the previous school year. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement throughout the testing process.
This Week at Welby Way
🎶 Spring Sing
Our TK/Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade classes will present our annual Spring Sing on Thursday, May 28, in the auditorium. All family members are welcome to attend.
Performance Times:
• 8:30 a.m.
• 1:15 p.m.
🤠 4th Grade Gold Rush
This Friday, our 4th grade students will participate in their annual Gold Rush event featuring square dancing and a variety of engaging activities. Thank you to our approved parent volunteers who will be helping throughout the day. As a reminder, all volunteers must check in through the main office.
🌎 Welby Way Cultural Arts Fair
This Friday from 5:30–7:00 p.m., all families are invited to attend the Welby Way Cultural Arts Fair on the yard at no charge. There will be food trucks, arts and crafts, music, and dancing from around the world representing the many cultures within our Welby Way community.
Families are encouraged to come dressed in clothing that represents their family’s cultural background. I hope to see many of you there for this special evening of celebration and community.

🎓 5th Grade Culmination
Our 5th grade culmination ceremonies will take place on Tuesday, June 9:
• 8:30 a.m. – Magnet
• 10:30 a.m. – Charter
🏫 Last Day of School
The final day of the 2025–2026 school year will be Wednesday, June 10.
⏰ Minimum Day Dismissal – 12:50 p.m.
Minimum day dismissal will take place on:
• Friday, June 5
• Monday, June 8
• Wednesday, June 10
Please note that Tuesday, June 9, will remain a regular dismissal day at 1:30 p.m.
🌟 First Day of School – 2026–2027
The first day of school for the 2026–2027 school year will be Wednesday, August 12. After-school daycare applications will become available in the office in mid-July.
