Week of August 17th News

Good evening, Welby Way families,

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. We completed our first week of school with so many happy faces as our students learned, made new connections, and positively interacted with their friends. It was wonderful to see our campus filled with such excitement and joy!

📣 Monday Morning Assembly

This Monday will be our first Monday morning assembly, and all families are welcome to join us as we come together as a school community on the yard.

On Monday morning, families may enter the yard through the front gate, 2nd/4th grade gate, or 3rd/5th grade gate and will exit through the same gate immediately following the assembly.

During our assembly, we will:

  • Participate in the flag salute and national anthem
  • Celebrate some of our first-week successes
  • Discuss and review positive yard behavior expectations

I look forward to seeing many of you there as we begin our Monday together!

🚗 Morning and Dismissal Traffic

For the safety of our children and families during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal, please be sure to pull past the cones and along the curb when dropping off or picking up your child.

Please do not drop your child off in the middle of the street, in front of the cones, or have your child cross the street in the middle of the block.

If you are walking your child to the gate, please be sure to park on the opposite side of the street or away from the designated drop-off area so that other families can safely pull along the curb to drop off their children.

Additionally, out of respect for our neighbors, please do not block driveways or park in the church parking or staff parking lot.

I truly thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together to keep all of our children and families safe.

🐝 POWW Updates

This week, come out and meet our dedicated POWW Board at an evening mixer in the Welby Way auditorium!

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other families, especially many of our new parents, learn more about POWW, and discover ways to become involved in our school community. Goodies will be served, and this is a parents-only event.

I hope to see you on Wednesday evening from 6:00–7:00 p.m. in the auditorium as we welcome and connect with our Welby Way families!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support and mostly the gift of your child.   I am looking forward to another wonderful week at Welby Way!

This is all for now.
