Happy 2025-2026 School Year!

The first few pages of the HW packet are put online each week. Here are the 12/8/2025 HW Cover Pages The entire packet is handed out on Monday of each week in student's yellow folders. I put the first pages online to give students time to study spelling and introduce the poem. (poems will begin soon) Students are to turn in HW each Friday in their yellow folders :-)

Spelling words for the week are in the HW cover pages. Do these Spelling Activities throughout the week for practice. Note: You get to the games by clicking the green rectangles. I like the balloon one and more!
Word Wall This digital version of the one we have in class will be updated dynamically throughout the year. Please make sure that your child is comfortable reading each word on the "The Word Wall"
Our classroom has a Barnes and Noble Wishlist and an Amazon wish list . (Wishlist donations are optional).
In addition to our wish lists disinfecting Wipes are always appreciated.

Book Report Forms. (These optional book reports could be printed and attached to your weekly HW turn in. Please ask me if you need me to print any for you)

About Mr. Weissler

Jody Weissler is very happy to be at Welby Way. He went to Hale and El Camino Real High School and is in touch with the community's expectations. He believes the students, faculty, and parents at Welby Way are unmatched.

Room 7 is a rich and welcoming environment. Jody spends hours making sure each day is valuable. This is the year to make students excited about Math, Reading, and Writing.

Jody Weissler has a teaching credential and degrees from UC Berkeley and Cal State Northridge. He is also certificated in various topics ranging from Agriculture to Computer Science. Mr. Weissler is proud to be the founder of several educational and travel websites for teachers and parents at Teachtopia.com.

Mr. Weissler is an instructor at Cal State University, Northridge. At CSUN he is part of a great team that is constantly learning and practicing the latest teaching methodologies. Mr. Weissler brings back the best of the teaching world to the students he teaches each day at Welby.

Mr. Weissler is married with twins. Mrs. Weissler is the best wife, mom, classroom volunteer and travel companion (see above photos) in the world. The twins are currently studying cybersecurity and nursing. The entire family shares the same love of theme parks, travel, good bread, and Mexican food.
