There is so much to learn in first grade! For students in Room 7, please note these weekly resources for academic success:
- Here is the cover letter for the 4th Week of School 9/3-9/6 The printed out HW packet is handed out on Monday of each week in student's yellow folders. I put the first two pages online to give students time to study spelling and introduce the poem. Students are to turn in HW each Friday in their yellow folders :-)
- Spelling City (spelling words for the week are online. Do the free activities throughout the week for practice
- Word Wall This digital version of the one we have in class will be updated dynamically throughout the year. Please make sure that your child is comfortable reading each word on "The Word Wall"
- There is also a classroom wish list (Wishlist donations are optional)

About Mr. Weissler
Jody Weissler is very happy to be at Welby Way. He went to Hale and El Camino Real High School and is in touch with the community's expectations. He believes the students, faculty, and parents at Welby Way are unmatched.
Room 7 is a rich and welcoming environment. Jody spends hours making sure each day is valuable. This is the year to make students excited about Math, Reading, and Writing.
Jody Weissler has a teaching credential, and BA from UC Berkeley, and a masters in Political Science. He is also certificated in various topics ranging from Agriculture to Computer Science. Mr. Weissler is also proud to have founded several educational and travel websites for teachers and parents at Teachtopia.com.
Mr. Weissler is also an instructor at Cal State University, Northridge. At CSUN he is part of a great team that is constantly learning and practicing the latest teaching methodologies. Mr. Weissler brings back the best of the teaching world to the students he teaches each day at Welby.
Mr. Weissler is married with twins. Mrs. Weissler is the best wife, mom, and travel companion (see above photos) in the world. The twins are currently studying cybersecurity and nursing. The entire family shares the same love of theme parks, travel, good bread, and Mexican food.
